How to use it

  1. Put 50 g into a bowl and add 150–200 ml of milk.
  2. Stir until there are no dry pockets, then leave to stand for 60–90 seconds if using hot milk.
  3. For overnight oats, use cold milk, combine in a jar and refrigerate. The texture is better this way.
  4. Add 2 tbsp of protein peanut butter to take the bowl to roughly 28 g of protein with 200 ml of milk.

Who it suits

  • Anyone whose breakfast is currently low in protein — poha, upma, toast and paratha are all light on it
  • People who would rather chew a meal than drink one, and who find a shake leaves them hungry by mid-morning
  • Anyone who wants a protein source with fibre attached rather than an isolated powder

Who should skip it

  • Vegans. This contains whey, which is a milk protein
  • Anyone with a milk allergy, or coeliac disease unless the pack states gluten-free — oats are frequently processed alongside wheat
  • People wanting maximum protein per rupee. A plain whey powder is more efficient on that measure; this trades some of that for being an actual meal

Common questions

How much protein is in a serving?

11 g from a 50 g serving, since the product is 22% protein by weight. Made with 200 ml of toned milk, the bowl comes to roughly 17 g, and adding 2 tbsp of protein peanut butter takes it to about 28 g.

Can I make it the night before?

Yes, and it is better that way. Use cold milk, combine everything in a jar and refrigerate overnight. The oats hydrate fully and the texture is more even than a 90-second hot bowl.

Is this suitable for weight loss?

It can fit. Protein and fibre both help with fullness, which makes it easier to stay in a calorie deficit. But it is a real meal with real calories, not a diet product — weigh the serving rather than pouring by eye.
